From my first visit he was so helpful in explaining everything in layman's terms. He made an orthotic for both feet and advised the type of sneakers and shoes which would benefit me on my way forward. Thank you Oswald you saved me from having painful foot surgery. With a decade of expertise under his belt, he’s not just our backbone but the very heart of the practice. Honoured to have succeeded the legendary Ferdi Nel, Oswald finds great joy in helping patients of all ages and abilities find freedom in every step. After graduating with honours in orthotic and prosthetic technology, he spent seven years at Sandton Mediclinic before moving to Cape Town and taking over the practice. He’s also completed a variety of advanced courses and certificates. “I’m continually inspired by my patients’ improvement and advancements in the field and look forward to working (almost) every day.” Compassionate and attuned to the emotional journey of each individual, he’s here to guide, support and uplift.

Anerie du Plessis is a passionate and skilled Qualified Medical Orthotist Prosthetist, who has recently joined our team at Oswald Gibson Orthotics and Prosthetics. Anerie brings a specialised focus in pediatric orthotics, helping children achieve greater mobility and independence through custom-designed orthotic devices.

Committed to enhancing lives, Anerie designs and fits braces and creates personalised prosthetics for those who have experienced limb loss. Her approach transcends mere physical support; she wholeheartedly embraces a holistic perspective that takes into account the emotional, mental, and social well-being of her patients, providing them with comprehensive care.

In my practice, I engage empathetically with patients and apply my clinical expertise to achieve the best outcomes in their rehabilitation. I specialize in breast prosthetics, driven by a passion for women’s health, measuring and fitting prostheses for mastectomy patients to restore their appearance and hope. My fascination with custom orthotics began at the O&P Centre in Cape Town, focusing on lower limb orthoses for adults and children. Combining my artistic background with innovative designs and quality materials, I see these devices as both functional rehabilitation tools and works of art, aiming for the best results for my patients.

My passion for the well-being of those around me has guided me through diverse fields, including the medical, legal and environmental sectors. The extensive knowledge I’ve acquired in these areas enables me to adopt a holistic approach to patient treatment. My primary goal is to ensure that the care I provide to everyone who visits my office is of the utmost quality.
